Devil Rays 4, White Sox 2: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Chris Singleton had two hits and drove in two runs to help Tampa Bay beat Chicago, ending the White Sox’s eight-game winning streak. Singleton had two run-scoring singles off Freddy Garcia (3-2).

Red Sox 13, Athletics 5: At Boston, Trot Nixon drove in four runs and Kevin Millar hit his first homer of the season to power the Red Sox to a win over Oakland.

Tigers 2, Rangers 0: At Arlington, Texas, Nate Robertson (1-3) pitched eight strong innings and Craig Monroe hit an RBI triple with two outs in the ninth to give Detroit a victory over Texas.

Orioles 3, Twins 0: At Baltimore, Daniel Cabrera (2-2) outpitched Carlos Silva (2-1), Miguel Tejada homered and drove in two runs, and the Orioles ended Minnesota’s four-game winning streak.

Blue Jays 6, Royals 1: At Toronto, Josh Towers (4-1) won his third straight start by pitching eight strong innings, and the Blue Jays ended a four-game losing streak with a victory over Kansas City.

Indians 3, Angels 0: At Anaheim, Calif., Kevin Millwood (1-3) allowed one hit over eight innings for his first A.L. victory, and Coco Crisp and Ronnie Belliard hit solo homers as Cleveland blanked the Angels.

National League

Astros 2, Marlins 1: At Miami, Roger Clemens (2-1) pitched seven shutout innings to win for the first time since April 8, and Houston broke an 11-game road losing streak by beating Florida.

Phillies 4, Brewers 2: At Milwaukee, Chase Utley homered twice and Jason Michaels and Bobby Abreu also went deep to lead Philadelphia past the Brewers.

Cardinals 4, Dodgers 2: At St. Louis, Albert Pujols drove in four runs with two homers off Odalis Perez (4-3), giving him four long balls against the left-hander in only 12 at-bats, and Mark Mulder (5-1) tied his career best with 12 strikeouts as the Cardinals doubled up Los Angeles.

Padres 6, Reds 5 (13): At Cincinnati, Ryan Klesko homered to start a four-run ninth-inning comeback against Cincinnati’s bullpen, and Dave Roberts had a run-scoring single in the 13th that sent San Diego past the Reds.

Rockies 7, Braves 6: At Denver, Todd Helton hit a pair of run-scoring doubles and the Colorado bullpen held onto a one-run lead for nearly four innings to help the Rockies edge Atlanta.

Giants 2, Pirates 1: At San Francisco, Brett Tomko (3-4) outpitched Mark Redman (1-3) for the second time in 10 days and Omar Vizquel hit an RBI double to give him an 11-game hitting streak, leading the Giants over Pittsburgh.

Mets 7, Cubs 4: At Chicago, Doug Mientkiewicz hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning off recently demoted closer LaTroy Hawkins (1-4), leading New York to a victory over the Cubs.

Nationals 4, Diamondbacks 3: At Phoenix, Nick Johnson drove in two runs with a homer and tiebreaking double, and Washington beat Arizona for the 10th straight time.
