The following nonprofit organizations need volunteer help. If you’re interested, please contact them directly:

Big Brothers Big Sisters: Need school-based mentors for one hour a week during lunch, and community-based mentors for two-four hours/week. To be matched with a terrific child. Call Ruth at 667-0975.

Birthright: Needs volunteers three hours a week to help women in our community worried about their pregnancies. Provide training to interested parties. Call Dorothy Benoit at 765-4516.

Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra League: Needs volunteers for a variety of duties to help promote the symphony before each concert and at special musical events. Membership, $15. Call Barb at 664-4192.

Kootenai Humane Society: Needs volunteers to walk dogs and help socialize them, especially weekend afternoons, but any day after noon. Located near the Coeur d’Alene airport. Call Kerri at 772-4019.

CDA4Kids (Community Development Affiliates): Needs volunteers for tutorials, services and activities this summer and after school at Borah and Hayden elementaries. Summer programs run July 5-Aug. 11. School-year programs (tutoring and mentoring) will take place before and after school. Volunteers of all ages needed. Call James Curb at Borah, 664-5844.
