Art at St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul of Spokane, 2901 E. Trent Ave., is carrying handmade artwork from Africa, India and Guatemala – countries where the national organization has missions.

The items include ceremonial masks, wood carvings, drums, blankets and other woven items, says spokesman Matthew Meeusen. All proceeds go directly to the artisans.

“If a good piece sells, that’s a year’s salary for them,” Meeusen says.

St. Vincent de Paul also is looking for local artists to hang their art for sale in its stores. For more information, call Meeusen at 535-2491.
