This year marks the first time Kettle Falls will have missed the state fastpitch softball tournament. The Bulldogs have competed in all five years of the 1A fastpitch tournament, winning last year, and were at the two 2A tournaments held before fastpitch softball was introduced at the 1A level. Freeman, which is playing for a spot to state on Saturday, has only missed one fastpitch state tournament, the 2003 State 1A event. Colfax has only been in one fastpitch state tournament, last year’s 1A event.
