Storm stuff Silver Stars behind Jackson’s play

Lauren Jackson scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Seattle Storm to a 79-51 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Sunday night in Seattle.

After missing her first four shots, Jackson finished 8 of 16 from the field and made all five of her free throws.

Sue Bird had 18 points and Betty Lennox added 12 for the Storm. Bird made 4 of 5 from 3-point range, had five assists and no turnovers.

Wendy Palmer-Daniel had nine points for the Silver Stars, who shot 38 percent from the floor and had 20 turnovers.

Comet 86, Fever 78 (2 OT): At Houston, Sheryl Swoopes scored 31 points, including 12 in the second overtime, to lift Houston over Indiana.

Michelle Snow had 21 points on 9-for-9 shooting, and Dominique Canty added 15 points for the Comets.

Tamika Catchings led Indiana with 20 points and rookie Tan White added 12.

Monarchs 67, Lynx 66: At Minneapolis, Yolanda Griffith had 18 points to lead Sacramento over Minnesota after a video review showed Nicole Ohlde’s layup came after the buzzer.

Officials originally called Ohlde’s basket good, but reversed the ruling after reviewing tape of the play.

DeMya Walker added 15 points for Sacramento.
