Welcome to their aboveground Lair

Lion’s Lair opened in early November to provide a traditional, small-capacity lounge atmosphere on the east side of downtown.

“It’s a true cocktail lounge,” said Eric McLeod, who co-owns the Lair, 205 W. Riverside Ave., with Kameron Finnegan. It’s a two-level joint with music from various chilled-out genres floating down from the house speakers.

Along with martinis, cocktails and vino, check out the four taps, including the Fireweed Honey Blonde from Rocky Coulee Brewing in Odessa.

Hours are Mondays through Saturdays, 3 p.m. to close.

Mootsy’s returns

Your days spent sans New York-style pizza pies are over; Mootsy’s Pizza, 9 N. Washington St., recently reopened with new hours, new specials, beer and wine.

Don’t forget to stop by on Monday nights, with $1 Cheese slices and $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon specials from 5 to 8 p.m.

Hours are Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturdays, 5 to 10 p.m.

For delivery, call (509) 838-0260.

Attention: chocoholics

Folks soon will be lounging with chocolate and sipping tea and cider at Chocolate Apothecary, 621 W. Mallon Ave., in the Flour Mill.

The Apothecary should be open to cure what ails you starting Dec. 5, according to owner Susan Davis.

For more information, call (509) 324-2424.
