The Spokesman-Review

North Idaho College’s Snowriders Club and Lookout Pass will present the latest winter sports film from Warren Miller Entertainment titled “Higher Ground” at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 in NIC’s Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.

“Higher Ground” chronicles skiers and snowboarders in their never-ending search for new and thrilling ways to ride the snow. In the first-ever high-definition film tour, “Higher Ground” takes viewers through the steeps of Alaska, terrain parks in Colorado, deep powder in British Columbia and cliffs in Switzerland.

Part action/adventure and part documentary, the film features athletes such as big-mountain skiers Jeremy Nobis and Seth Morrison, ski-base jumping innovators Shane McConkey and Glen Plake, as well as up-and-coming stars such as 5-year-old phenom Bridger Gile.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for NIC students and those 17 and younger and are available at the Outdoor Pursuits Office, on the lower level of NIC’s Edminster Student Union Building; Loulou’s Sports Shop at 215 W. Kathleen in Coeur d’Alene; Vertical Earth at 206 N. Third St.; and the Ski Shack at 9437 Government Way in Hayden.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Lookout Pass will offer free lift tickets to those in attendance, and Loulou’s Sports Shop will give away certificates for a free ski hot wax.

Silver Mountain will sell their College Season Passes for $125 and Lookout Pass is offering passes for $99. Special pricing will be available only the night of the show.
