Jackets’ Nash to miss two more weeks
Columbus Blue Jackets star Rick Nash is expected to remain on injured reserve another 12-to-14 days with a sprained right ankle. Team officials had hoped he would return this weekend.
“Unfortunately, that’s not the case,” team president and general manager Doug Mac-Lean told the Columbus Dispatch in Friday’s editions. “He’s going to be immobilized for the next week. Then we’ll start therapy again. From what the doctors told me, if we follow this procedure he should be 100 percent in two weeks.”
Nash could be ready near the middle of the Blue Jackets’ six-game homestand Oct. 21-28.
In 2003-04, Nash finished tied for the NHL lead with 41 goals. The 1-3 Blue Jackets have scored an NHL-low seven goals this season.
The 21-year-old left wing hurt his right ankle when he crashed feet-first into the boards Sept. 14, the second day of training camp. He skipped the exhibition season, came back for the Oct. 5 regular-season opener and played fewer than 9 minutes. He was put on injured reserve a few days later.

Dubielewicz is 1-1-1 with 6.33 goals-against average this season. He had a win and a tie and 1.73 average with the Islanders in the 2003-04 season.
