Insider tidbit

Nintendo has inked a deal

with McDonald’s to place

Wi-Fi stations in almost

6,000 locations, all designed

to give gamers free network

access to play Nintendo DS

games online. “Mario Kart

DS” and “Tony Hawk’s

American Sk8land” are the

first games to use the online

service, scheduled to launch

on Nov. 14. The Wi-Fi service

at Mickey D’s will be free of

charge.

This week’s site:

Animation for adults

The Cartoon Network’s Adult

Swim block of adult-themed

animation has enjoyed plenty

of success, and one of its

latest offerings, “Robot

Chicken,” should continue the

tradition. Created by Seth

Green (yes, that Seth Green)

and Matthew Senreich, the

show focuses on nonsense

and silliness acted out in

stop-motion by action

figures. Since the show

debuted, perhaps the funniest

sequences involved a

dance-off between nostalgic

‘80s robot Voltron and a

green space monster. If you

haven’t seen this gem (or

don’t watch the show), check

it out at

www.krpcreative.com/

voltron.wmv to get an idea of

what you’ve been missing.
