Jen sick of jumping hoops in ‘media circus’ spotlight

The Spokesman-Review

Hi, my name’s Jen. I like to talk long walks in the moonlight, reading my Grishams, watching television – especially watching television – and I think I’m a fun date.

That, above, is a sample dating-video script for Jennifer Aniston, who says that she’s ready to get back on the dating horse after her well-publicized break-up with former husband Brad Pitt.

The former “Friends” star told Oprah Winfrey on Monday that she’s “doing so well.” “It’s the media that won’t move on,” she insisted. “You just want to say, ‘Come on, people! Turn a page!’ “

When Winfrey asked Aniston if she was ready to “start the whole dating thing again,” the 36-year-old actress emphatically replied, “yes” – checking her watch as if to say it was time.

By the way, if you didn’t know, Pitt has been romantically linked with Angelina Jolie, his co-star in the movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” Aniston, though, couldn’t care less.

“I’m not sitting somewhere dwelling on the past,” she said. “I’m not fretting or obsessing about something in the future.”

That may be because, she said, referring to Winfrey’s new set, “(If) I had a dollar for every (self-help) book that was sent my way, I could have probably paid for this studio.”

There’s no place to go but … just kidding, Love

Following her slovely performance during the recent Comedy Central roast of Pamela Anderson, singer/actress Courtney Love was sentenced Friday to 180 days at a drug treatment facility for violating probation in three criminal cases (the 41-year-old rocker did get credit for 28 days she spent at a rehabilitation center earlier). In a separate case on Friday, Love was sued by a woman for allegedly attacking her while she was asleep in 2004. Love pleaded no contest in February to misdemeanor assault involving Kristin King and was sentenced to three years’ probation.

Crow loves rugby (whoa, there’s a surprise)

Russell Crowe wants to buy a rugby team. The Oscar-winning actor is in negotiations to purchase a club in Australia’s National Rugby League, officials of the targeted South Sydney Rabbitohs said Saturday. Rugby, known for its on-field roughness, would seem a perfect fit for the “Gladiator” star who has been charged with allegedly throwing a phone at a New York hotel concierge in June. If convicted of the assault charge, Crowe could lose his right to work in the United States and could face up to seven years in prison.

Martha proved that surviving ‘Yale’ is no big thing

Martha Stewart, who appeared on David Letterman’s “Late Show” Monday to promote her two new TV shows, talked about the five-month prison sentence she served for lying to authorities about a stock deal. While the prison experience was “pretty horrifying,” Stewart said it taught her how strong she was. “I did not allow myself to get depressed,” she said. “I did not allow myself to get down too much. I faced what I had to face. I lived through it, actually, with flying colors, if you can live through ‘Yale’ with flying colors.”

Kate, meanwhile, earns double-secret probation

Kate Moss snorted some cocaine and she’s very sorry for her actions. The model acknowledged as much to the Hennes & Mauritz clothing chain, which hired her to model one of H&M’s upcoming clothing lines. Moss, 31, promised in writing to abide by a company policy that models be “healthy, wholesome and sound,” H&M spokeswoman Liv Asarnoj said. That why, Asarnoj added, “We are giving her a second chance.”
