Moreland leads T-Wolves to win
Lake City middle hitter Riki Moreland turned in another solid all-around performance, leading the Timberwolves in four categories on their way to a four-game victory over host Lewiston in an Inland Empire League volleyball match Tuesday night.
Moreland led LC (5-1 IEL) with 11 kills, 12 assists, three aces and two blocks. Kelli Bridges added six digs to defeat the Bengals (2-5).
In other IEL action, Moscow (5-0) maintained a half-match lead over the Timberwolves with a four-game win over Coeur d’Alene at Moscow. Sally Sperle had 21 assists and Jackie Lenz added 17 digs for the Vikings (3-2).
•Jennifer Youngwirth was the key to Bonners Ferry’s offense, serving four aces and dishing out 25 assists as the Badgers edged Priest River 14-25, 16-25, 25-15, 25-14, 15-11 in Intermountain League play at Bonners Ferry. Becky Lowther added nine kills and three blocks for the Badgers (2-1), while Molly Blankenship had seven aces and four blocks for the Spartans (0-3).
•Cara Hayman‘s double-double and Shala Wild‘s nine aces led Wallace to a dominating sweep of Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy in a North Star League match at Coeur d’Alene. Hayman led the Miners (5-0 NSL) with 18 assists and 10 digs. Libby Redline had 10 digs for the Panthers (1-3). … Every Post Falls Christian player had at least three kills as the Eagles (2-3) swept Lakeside (Plummer) (1-4) at Post Falls.

Pullman senior Miranda Weitz took over the net with 22 kills and five blocks to lead Pullman to a 25-22, 24-26, 25-11, 23-25, 15-13 victory over Colville in a Great Northern League volleyball match in Pullman.
