Christian concert

National touring Christian artists Todd Agnew and Big Daddy Weave will headline The Name of Jesus concert Thursday at Faith Bible Church, 600 W. Cora Ave. Opening acts are Nate Sallie and Jason Morant.

CROP Hunger Walk

Church World Service and the Interfaith Council of the Inland Northwest are once again presenting the annual CROP Hunger Walk.

The event raises funds, nonperishable food items and awareness of local and global hunger. Since 1979, participants in the Spokane CROP Walk have raised more than a half a million dollars to benefit local and global hunger and education agencies.

Registration begins Sunday at noon at Martin Centre on the Gonzaga University campus, with the walk starting at 1:30 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Angus Scott Bagpipe Band and the Rainbow Fiddle Kids.

Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will benefit local agencies, including the Spokane Second Harvest Food Bank, Mid-City Concerns Meals on Wheels, Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Spokane.

Sukiyaki supper

Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield St., is offering its 57th annual sukiyaki supper today from noon to 7 p.m.

Mission for Christ

American Lutheran Church, 13 E. Riverside Ave., Kellogg, is hosting the Northwest District Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ on Friday at 7 p.m. and next Saturday at 7:30 a.m.

The keynote speaker is Minnesota Supreme Court Judge Barry Anderson, and the Friday night event includes an ice cream social.

The cost is $30.

‘The Amanuensis’

“The Amanuensis,” a play written by Gary Hotchkiss, an associate pastor at Trinity Baptist Church, 6528 N. Monroe St., will be performed at the church today at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m.

The play centers around a young Roman man in 62 A.D. who gets an unusual, life-changing job opportunity from a stranger.

Admission is free, and child care will be provided.

Timbuktu lecture

The Rev. Nouh Yattara of the Kel Tamasheq ethnic group will speak about Timbuktu, a town of 30,000 people in West Africa, on Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Service Station, 9315 N. Nevada St.

Yattara will also discuss how he converted to Christianity from Islam and about his ministry.

Auction and square dance

Covenant United Methodist Church, 15515 N. Gleneden Drive, is presenting Sail into Spring, an auction and square dance, today from 6 to 10 p.m.

The event will include oral and silent auctions featuring vacations, handmade gifts, antiques and more. Proceeds will benefit the church and its high school mission to Louisiana.

The cost is $4 per person, $5 per couple or $6 for a family.

Fellowship and potluck

Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., is presenting a fellowship and a potluck on Sunday.
