RiverHawks open playoffs at Wenatchee

The Bellingham Bells beat the Spokane RiverHawks Sunday 6-0 in the team’s final WCCBL game Sunday in Bellingham. The RiverHawks had already clinched first place in the regular season on Saturday.

The league’s second-place team, Wenatchee (27-15), will host Spokane (28-16) in the first game of the best-of-3 playoffs tonight at 7 at Wenatchee Valley College. Game 2 of the playoffs is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Avista Stadium. Game 3 will be held at Avista Stadium Friday if needed.

College basketball

The University of Idaho men’s basketball team has announced its schedule for the 2006-07 season.

The Vandals will open their season at home for the first time since the 2002-03 season with a game vs. North Dakota State Nov. 10. Idaho will play 14 games at home, including hosting a “Bracket Buster” game Feb. 17, and 16 on the road.
