Civic staging ‘Goal Crazy’

It’s a clash of campus cultures in “Goal Crazy! – A Musical About Sports and Spring Fever” at the Spokane Civic Theatre tonight through Aug. 18.

This original musical is the culminating event of the Spokane Civic Theatre Academy’s summer sessions for students.

Director and creator Jean Hardie has concocted a tale of fictional Millamallamoola U., a college where rugby rules. Then the boys from the rugby team are thrown into a dance class to help with footwork and coordination.

Comedy and romance ensue – as well as plenty of singing and dancing.

Performances are today, Friday, Saturday and Aug. 16-18, all at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage, 1020 N. Howard.
