Soccer deserves more

(Regarding DC United vs. Real Madrid soccer match in Seattle on Wednesday:) It was very disappointing to see that The Spokesman-Review didn’t bother to promote or cover this high-profile, professional soccer game. This was an important regional sports event that seemed to go right over the heads of the Spokesman-Review sports department. The paper’s coverage of soccer in general is very weak. I would love to see the sports department hire someone with some soccer passion to feed the growing demand in this region so we don’t have to go to USA Today or the Seattle Times to get decent coverage.
