Monday

Citgo Petroleum Corp., a Houston subsidiary of Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, wants to offer substantial discounts on home heating oil to American tribes in the Pacific Northwest, including to the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

Tuesday

After nearly 20 years in business, Itronix Corp. is changing its name, following its acquisition last year by big defense contractor General Dynamics. Itronix will be known as Itronix, a General Dynamics company, on an interim basis, but by the end of the year its name will become simply General Dynamics.

Wednesday

Advanced Input Systems, of Coeur d’Alene, is marketing a computer keyboard designed to combat the spread of harmful bacteria in health care settings. Called Medigenic, the flat-screen keyboard is made to be wiped down with antibacterial tissues, and alerts users when it’s time for another cleaning.

Itron announced it will acquire a Massachusetts company that designs and sells acoustic sensors for detecting underground waterline leaks. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Thursday

A Las Vegas hotelier, Artisan Hotel and Spa, is planning an art-themed hotel in Spokane, according to published reports in other cities. Artisan’s owner, Douglas DaSilva, declined to comment, saying a contract prevented him from discussing his plans for Spokane.

A Tacoma developer’s plan to buy the former Kaiser Aluminum Mead smelter and establish a tire-recycling operation there ended after a court battle with the property’s owner. Three previous offers have been made for the site, but those deals also weren’t finished for various reasons, according to the owner’s real estate agent.

Friday

Citadel Broadcasting, which owns seven radio stations in Spokane, is expected to finalize its acquisition of ABC Radio from the Walt Disney Co. in the next few months. Citadel will have an exclusive 10-year contract to carry ABC News Radio programming on its stations; the current ABC affiliate in Spokane is KXLY-AM, owned by Morgan Murphy.
