Shock add vet

The Spokane Shock, down a couple of linemen heading into the ArenaCup on Saturday, are poised to add Voncellies Allen, an af2 veteran, to their roster.

Allen, 6-foot-1 and 310 pounds, is expected to join the team in Puerto Rico later this week to finalize the required paper work. Allen, who earned NCAA Division I-AA All-American honors at Georgia Southern, was a teammate of Shock head coach Chris Siegfried on the af2 Augusta Stallions in 2000. Allen played for Siegfried at Cape Fear from 2002-04 and part of last season at South Georgia.

Spokane is without Jerome Stevens, who is getting married Saturday, and Christian Harmeyer, who left the team last week.
