SEATTLE – Rashard Lewis scored 29 points and the Seattle SuperSonics won consecutive home games for the first time this season with a 102-87 win Tuesday night over the Atlanta Hawks.

Seattle was without Ray Allen, who didn’t play because of a strained tendon in his right foot. Lewis helped pick up the slack with 18 points in the first half and six Sonics scored in double figures to help Seattle improve to 4-6 at home. It was its seventh consecutive win over Atlanta.

Chris Wilcox was solid with 18 points and nine rebounds as the Sonics outrebounded Atlanta 44-28. Luke Ridnour added 14 and Damien Wilkins, starting in Allen’s place, added 10.

Joe Johnson led Atlanta with 34 points and is averaging 33 points over his last five games, but he got little help otherwise. Josh Smith finished with 11, but the Hawks shot just 38.6 percent and never led.

Trailing by 15 early in the second half, Atlanta got within 69-63 late in the third quarter on Smith’s layup with 2:49 left. But Seattle scored the last eight points of the third quarter, highlighted by center Johan Petro’s fast-break layup, dribbling half of the court. The drive was part of a 12-3 run that extended Seattle’s lead back to 15.

Nick Collison added 11 points and nine rebounds and Earl Watson scored 10 for Seattle, which won despite a season-high 24 turnovers.

Allen said he first noticed the pain in his foot before Saturday’s game at Utah, but he opted to play in the Sonics’ 109-107 loss. He didn’t practice Monday in hopes of playing against Atlanta, but after going through his normal pregame routine, he decided against suiting up.

Allen is scheduled to have an MRI exam today.

Atlanta played without guard Speedy Claxton, who rested his sore knees. Claxton played 28 minutes Sunday in Portland, the first of a five-game road trip for the Hawks.
