Christmas concerts
The season of Advent brings Christmas concerts throughout the region this week:
“The Singing Nuns are presenting their 11th annual concerts Wednesday and Thursday at the Bing Crosby Theater (formerly The Met), 901 W. Sprague Ave.
“An Irish Christmas,” part of the “Christmas Evermore” series, will feature special guests the ROOTS Family Irish Band, the Kelley Irish Dancers and harpist Serena Miller.
Performances will be at 2 and 7:30 p.m. both days. Tickets are $20 for adults, and $16 for students and seniors, through TicketsWest outlets (509-325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).

“Whitworth College is presenting its 2006 Christmas Festival concert, “From Out of Darkness, We Have Light,” today at 3 and 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St.
The concerts will feature the Whitworth Choir and the Whitworth Women’s Choir.

“Chanteuse, the women’s choir from University High School, is performing the music of Advent on Monday and Wednesday.
The choir will sing music from around the world on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave.

“The Kids Night Out young people from First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division St., are presenting “A King is Coming to Town,” a Christmas musical for all ages, Sunday at 7 p.m.

Special services
“The Spanish Roman Catholic community and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside Ave., are offering an Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

“The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church are offering an ecumenical Taize service on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the cathedral, 127 E. 12th Ave.

“Arden Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road, Colville, is presenting David Brown on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m.

“The Coeur d’Alene Baha’i Center, 2705 N. Howard St., Coeur d’Alene, is presenting interfaith prayers, writings and music as part of Human Rights Day on Sunday from 2 to 2:45 p.m.

Holiday bazaar
Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington St., is presenting an old-fashioned Christmas market and bazaar today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Items for sale will include crafts, gifts, baked goods and homemade jam. A luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., St. Nick will stop by at 1 p.m. and the Spokane Area Children’s Chorus will perform “Bethlehem Pastorale” at 3.
Advance tickets for the concert are $7 for balcony seating and $6 for general seating, available by calling (509) 624-7992. At the door, tickets are $8 for the balcony and $7 for general seats.
