Grizzlies cruise past Vandals

Mandy Morales hit 6 of 9 from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 28 points to propel the Montana Grizzlies to an 85-66 non-conference win over the Idaho Vandals on Saturday in Moscow.

Johanna Closson and Sonya Rogers each added 14 points for the Grizzlies (8-1).

Katie Madison hit 11 of 12 free-throw attempts and tallied 25 points to pace the Vandals (3-5). She also had a game-high nine rebounds.

•Simone Jordan scored a game-high 23 points to lead the North Idaho Cardinals (7-3, 1-1) to a 74-73 win over the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles in Scenic West Athletic Conference play in Coeur d’Alene.

Cassie Pilkinton added 15 points and eight rebounds for NIC.

Maria Moore topped CSI with 19 points.

•Denise Hill scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Albertson Coyotes (5-5) to an 83-61 non-conference victory over the Whitworth Pirates (5-2) in La Grande, Ore.

Susan McDaniel had a double-double for the Pirates (5-2) with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
