Monday

Cyan Worlds is preparing to relaunch Uru Live, an online multiplayer game, with a new twist: a team of Cyan’s “game masters” will play online during peak hours so other players can ask them questions and learn to navigate the game’s complexities.

Tuesday

A well-known Canadian chain of hair salons is headquartering its United States operations in Spokane. Chatters Salon recently opened its third U.S. store at River Park Square and established a head office in the Old City Hall building.

Julie Prafke, the president and chairwoman of Humanix Corp., officially has given up day-to-day control of the temporary staffing agency she founded. Nancy Nelson, Humanix’s chief operating officer, has been promoted to president of the company.

Wednesday

The popular online hangout MySpace said it will develop technologies to help block convicted sex offenders, the site’s latest attempt to address complaints about sexual predators and other dangers to teens.

Thursday

Suburban poor outnumbered their inner-city counterparts for the first time last year, with more than 12 million suburban residents living in poverty, according to a study of the nation’s 100 largest metropolitan areas.

Friday

After languishing for years, Spokane’s Flour Mill is experiencing a resurgence, with its retail space nearly full and a third of the office “condos” for sale there already spoken for.

“Coldwater Creek received a 2006 Green Power Leadership award from the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy for being the largest purchaser of renewable energy in the apparel industry.

“There’s an “instant messenging” gap between teens and adults, with 48 percent of those ages 13 to 18 using instant messaging to communicate, almost twice the percentage of adults who use it.
