Suns get 12th straight win in hot matchup

Shawn Marion had 23 points and 13 rebounds and Steve Nash had 18 points and 11 assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to their 12th straight victory Wednesday night, 99-89 over the Miami Heat.

Alonzo Mourning had 19 points and Udonis Haslem added 14 for Miami.

Cavaliers 104, Bobcats 101: At Cleveland, LeBron James scored 22 points giving Cleveland a win over Charlotte.

Rookie Adam Morrison led Charlotte with 16. Emeka Okafor had 14 and 11 rebounds.

Wizards 120, Nuggets 91: At Washington, Gilbert Arenas led six Wizards in double figures with 34 points, and Washington outran Denver.

Carmelo Anthony led Denver with 37.

Raptors 91, Magic 84: At Orlando, Fla., rookie Andrea Bargnani had a season-high 23 points and added six rebounds to help Toronto defeat Orlando.

Carlos Arroyo led the Magic with 22.

Celtics 101, 76ers 81: At Philadelphia, Paul Pierce and Ryan Gomes each scored 18 points to lead Boston over Philadelphia.

Kevin Ollie led the Sixers with 14 points.

Pacers 101, Pistons 90: At Indianapolis, Jermaine O’Neal had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead Indiana to a victory over Detroit.

Chauncey Billups had 22 points for the Pistons.

Nets 108, Bucks 95: At East Rutherford, N.J., Vince Carter scored 36 points to lead New Jersey over Milwaukee.

Charlie Villanueva scored 23 points for the Bucks.

Knicks 94, Hawks 82: At New York, Eddy Curry scored 20 points and Jared Jeffries added 15 to help New York beat Atlanta.

Stephon Marbury and Nate Robinson each had 13 points for the Knicks.

Spurs 95, Timberwolves 82: At San Antonio, Tim Duncan scored 24 points to lift San Antonio to a victory over Minnesota.

Kevin Garnett and Mark Blount each had 19 points for Minnesota.

Trail Blazers 85, Grizzlies 79: At Memphis, Tenn., Zach Randolph scored 21 points to lead Portland to victory over Memphis.

Mike Miller led Memphis with 20 points.

Mavericks 110, Lakers 101: At Dallas, Josh Howard scored 29 points carrying Dallas past Los Angeles.

The Lakers played without forward Lamar Odom who will be out for at least the next month with a sprained knee.

Kobe Bryant finished with 33 for the Lakers.

Jazz 105, Clippers 86: At Los Angeles, Deron Williams scored 28 points and had 14 assists and Utah handed Los Angeles a loss.

Elton Brand led the Clippers with 20 points.

Prior to the game, Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy agreed to a four-year, $22 million contract extension.

NBA great dies

Paul Arizin, an early pioneer of the jump shot who led the Philadelphia Warriors to the 1956 NBA championship and was chosen one of the 50 greatest NBA players, died at his home in suburban Philadelphia. He was 78.
