Zags deserve praise
When your dog does something good, you should tell him “Good boy!” and give him a nice pat. Our Gonzaga Bulldogs deserve some praise and pats for their efforts so far.
The win over Washington may not have been as prestigious as the one over then-No. 2 North Carolina, but it was more important to the Zags.
Coming off a loss to Wazzu, it would have been a real blow to lose a second straight game to an in-state rival.
But they met the challenge with arguably their best performance of the season. They took charge right at the start, controlled the first half and beat back every second-half comeback try of the Huskies.
These Zags are still a work in progress and Mark Few has done a superb job of juggling lineups to find the right pieces to his puzzle. They’re going to lose more games than we’re accustomed to seeing, but that’s all right as long as they’re not in March and April.
