Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

CRATER LAKE, Ore. – Heading to Oregon’s only national park could get a lot more expensive, if proposed fee increased are approved.

Under the proposal from the Federal Lands Recreation Enactment Act, entrance fees at Crater Lake would double from $10 to $20 in January 2008.

The increase is part of a nationwide boost in park entrance fees.

Public comments on the proposed increases at both Crater Lake and Lava Beds will be taken Jan. 1 through March 31.
