Knicks win in 3 OTs

Channing Frye forced the third overtime with a buzzer-beating jumper, Jamal Crawford took over from there and the New York Knicks outlasted Richard Hamilton and the Detroit Pistons 151-145 Wednesday night in New York.

The Knicks withstood their third overtime game in 10 days and Hamilton’s career-high 51 points, the first 50-point game against them since Michael Jordan accomplished the feat in 1997. They improved to 4-0 in OT this season, including a pair of triple-overtime games.

Crawford finished with 29 points, nine in the third overtime. He carried the Knicks after Stephon Marbury fouled out with a season-high 41 points in the second extra period.

Cavaliers 89, Hawks 76: At Atlanta, LeBron James scored 27 points and Cleveland handed the Hawks their fifth consecutive loss.

Cleveland, which had won three of 11 road games this season, won for the sixth straight time in Atlanta.

Lakers 106, Magic 93: At Orlando, Fla., Kobe Bryant scored 27 points and Smush Parker added a season-high 20, sending Los Angeles past the Magic.

Grant Hill had 20 points for Orlando, while Jameer Nelson added 15 points and seven assists.

Wizards 114, Bobcats 107: At Charlotte, N.C., Gilbert Arenas scored 39 points and outdueled Gerald Wallace (40 points) down the stretch as Washington beat the Bobcats for its fourth straight victory.

Adam Morrison had 17 points and five assists in 37 minutes for Charlotte.

Rockets 96, Nets 71: At East Rutherford, N.J., Shane Battier hit a career-high seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, and Houston limited New Jersey to 33 percent shooting in a victory.

The Nets’ big three of Vince Carter (12), Jason Kidd (11) and Richard Jefferson (11) combined for 34 points on 11-for-40 shooting from the field.

Raptors 100, Timberwolves 97: At Toronto, T.J. Ford scored 28 points to lead the Raptors to a win over Minnesota.

Anthony Parker added 19 points for the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors, who are 6-4 without leading scorer Chris Bosh (left knee injury).

Kevin Garnett had 24 points to pace the Timberwolves.

Bucks 112, Grizzlies 96: At Memphis, Tenn., Andrew Bogut and Michael Redd each scored 20 points, and Milwaukee beat the Grizzlies for its sixth straight win.

Milwaukee is on its longest winning streak in four years. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies have lost five in a row and 14 of 16.

Bulls 109, Heat 103: At Chicago, Ben Gordon scored a career-high 40 points off the bench to lead the Bulls to a victory over short-handed Miami, which lost Dwyane Wade to a sprained wrist in the first quarter.

Gordon became the first Bulls player to score 40 points in a game since Michael Jordan also had 40 on April 5, 1998, at Houston.

Trail Blazers 100, Hornets 85: At Portland, Zach Randolph had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Trail Blazers over New Orleans.

The Hornets were without Chris Paul, who sprained his ankle Tuesday in Seattle. Last season’s rookie of the year is out indefinitely. He was averaging 18.4 points and nine assists per game.

Kings 101, 76ers 76: At Sacramento, Calif., Mike Bibby had 21 points and six assists to lead the Kings to a win over Philadelphia.

Clippers 100, Celtics 77: At Los Angeles, Elton Brand had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Tim Thomas added 25 points to lead the Clippers over Boston.

Nets’ Kidd fined

Jason Kidd was fined $20,000 by the NBA for a postgame rant in which he referred to officials Jim Clark, Tom Washington and Eric Lewis as “three blind mice.”

The New Jersey Nets star was angry about the officiating during a 92-91 loss at Detroit on Tuesday night.
