Brittany O’Neal scored a team-high 16 points and Sarah Scates added 10, as Community Colleges of Spokane defeated Big Bend CC 65-55 in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges women’s basketball contest on Wednesday in Moses Lake.

Emily Wittkopf grabbed 10 rebounds for the Sasquatch (14-8, 4-3). Kari Darnell recorded game highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings (11-11, 3-4).

Men’s basketball

Jeremy Mangum scored 20 points and Humberto Perez added 14, but it wasn’t enough as CCS (16-5, 5-2) lost 70-63 in NWAACC play at Big Bend.

Jordan Baker scored 23 points for BBCC (14-7, 5-2).

Prep wrestling

Brock Pierce’s takedown with 20 seconds left at 140 pounds edged Darren Thompson 7-6, securing a 33-28 Inland Empire League win for host Coeur d’Alene over Sandpoint.
