Sasquatch women prevail

Brittany O’Neal finished with a team-high 16 points as Community Colleges of Spokane defeated Big Bend 65-55 in Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges women’s basketball action Wednesday in Moses Lake.

Emily Wittkopf grabbed 10 rebounds for the Sasquatch (14-8, 4-3).

Men’s basketball

Jeremy Mangum scored 20 points, but it wasn’t enough as CCS (16-5, 5-2) lost 70-63 in NWAACC play at Big Bend.

Jordan Baker scored 23 points for BBCC (14-7, 5-2).

Hockey

Evan Bloodoff scored two goals and added an assist to help the Castlegar Rebels (25-27-2-2) edge visiting Spokane 5-4 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action.

Brandon Lassiter recorded a hat trick for the Braves (19-20-4-3).
