Vandals lose 10th straight

HONOLULU – Julian Sensley scored 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting to lead Hawaii to an 81-61 victory over Idaho on Thursday night.

Matt Lojeski added 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 5 of 6 3-pointers, for Hawaii (11-8, 5-4 Western Athletic Conference).

The Warriors shot a season-high 63.3 percent from the field, including 62.5 percent (10 of 16) from beyond the 3-point arc.

Tanoris Shepard led Idaho (3-16, 0-8 WAC) with 18 points before fouling out with 1:16 remaining. Keoni Watson added 13 for the Vandals, who lost their 10th consecutive game.

Idaho, which is 0-9 on the road this season, kept it close through the first 14 minutes of the game, leading by as many as four points.

The Warriors outscored the Vandals 19-6 to close out the first, leading 42-29 at the half.

Hawaii started the second half with a 13-2 run, capped by eight consecutive points from Sensley, to open up a 24-point lead, 55-31.

The Warriors led by as many as 25 points in the game.

Hawaii’s Hiram Thompson left the game in the second half with a mild concussion.
