Nuggets halt Mavericks’ win streak

Kenyon Martin scored a season-high 34 points, while Carmelo Anthony added 24 points and a career-high 10 assists in the Denver Nuggets’ 113-104 win over Dallas on Friday night in Denver, snapping the Mavericks’ 13-game winning streak.

The Nuggets had lost six of their last seven games before knocking the Mavericks out of first place in the Southwest Division.

Keith Van Horn scored 21 points and Jerry Stackhouse added 20 for the Mavericks, who failed to tie their franchise record of 14 straight wins set during the 2002-03 season.

Suns 112, Kings 104: Steve Nash scored 24 points, including a key basket and a pair of late free throws, helping Phoenix beat visiting Sacramento.

Pacers 107, Warriors 95: At Indianapolis, Stephen Jackson scored 30 points, and Indiana beat Golden State for its fourth straight victory.

Spurs 83, Nets 73: Manu Ginobili scored 22 points, Tim Duncan returned after missing a game with flu-like symptoms to add 12, and San Antonio pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat New Jersey and snap the Nets’ 12-game winning streak at East Rutherford, N.J.

Hornets 111, Knicks 100: Speedy Claxton scored 18 points and added a season-high 11 assists in place of injured point guard Chris Paul and David West added 21 points and 10 rebounds as New Orleans beat New York in Oklahoma City.

Jazz 94, Timberwolves 80: Reserve Matt Harpring scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, leading Utah past Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Pistons 84, Magic 73: Rasheed Wallace totaled 26 points and Richard Hamilton scored 23 to lead Detroit past Orlando at Orlando, Fla.

Wizards 101, Cavaliers 89: Gilbert Arenas tossed in a game-high 32 points to lift Washington over visiting Cleveland.

Celtics 115, Trail Blazers 83: Paul Pierce scored 20 of his 35 points in the third quarter, and Boston beat visiting Portland to snap a six-game losing streak.

Raptors 88, Bobcats 73: Charlie Villanueva scored 24 points and All-Star Chris Bosh added 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Toronto to a win at Charlotte, N.C.

Clippers 91, Grizzlies 87: Elton Brand scored a season-high 44 points and Chris Kaman added 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Los Angeles past visiting Memphis.

Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas was picked by NBA commissioner David Stern to replace injured Indiana forward Jermaine O’Neal on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. … Knicks coach Larry Brown said he expects to be without injured guard Stephon Marbury until after the All-Star break.
