They do share a certain bond
An old 007 is coming to the rescue of the new 007.
Roger Moore, who played the secret-agent icon in seven of the James Bond movies, said critics of the film franchise’s new star, Daniel Craig, should give him a chance.
“He’s a helluva good actor,” said Moore, 78 – adding that people haven’t seen Craig in the role yet, “so why attack him?”
The fair-haired Craig, whose recent screen credits include “Munich” and “The Jacket,” was tapped last October to play Bond in the upcoming “Casino Royale.”
A group of Bond fans has launched a Web site (www.craignotbond.com) to protest the hiring of Craig and boycott the new movie.
All arias covered
Former Playboy cover girl Carmen Electra wore a black-and-white gown to Vienna’s gala Opera Ball on Thursday – all night long.
“I’ll keep my clothes on,” the onetime “Baywatch” star joked on her way to the gala.
Electra, the wife of rock guitarist Dave Navarro, was the guest of Richard Lugner, a Vienna businessman who likes to invite celebrities to attract media attention.
Previous dates have included another “Baywatch” babe, Pamela Anderson, as well as actress Andie MacDowell, former Spice Girl
Geri Halliwell
and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson.
Pesci off the hook
Movie tough guy Joe Pesci will not be charged for allegedly punching a fan who photographed him in a Florida shopping center parking lot.
Juan Carlos Montenegro, a 24-year-old college student, said the actor refused a request to have his picture taken. When Montenegro snapped a shot anyway, he said, Pesci hit him.
An assistant state attorney general ruled there was little likelihood of conviction, since “the investigating officer was unable to determine who the primary aggressor was, and there are no independent witnesses to the incident.”
No tie-dyed teas?
The late Jerry Garcia, who was no stranger to leafy substances during his days with the Grateful Dead, has a new line of herbal blends named after him – and they’re completely legal.
The J. Garcia Artisan Teas line features a few named after Dead tunes – such as Morning Brew (“Morning Dew”) – as well as the self-explanatory Magic Herb Tea.
