Follow Riverstone Drive to where it ends at the to-be-removed railroad track near the Centennial Trail and the Spokane River and you pass a coming-soon sign for the Hampton Inn.

The 100-room, five-story hotel on three acres should open in Spring 2007. Its 20 to 40 seasonal employees will help maintain an indoor pool, and fitness and business centers. Some rooms and suites will have river views.

With building costs of as much as $5 million, the hotel is affiliated with Hilton Hotels. It will be administered by AmeriTel Inns of Boise, which also has the AmeriTel Inn in Coeur d’Alene. The new Hampton will be in sight of the similar-sized Holiday Inn Express under construction on Northwest Boulevard, on the river side of its intersection with Seltice Way.

Sahara Pizza comes to Post Falls

Sahara Pizza, boasting fresh ingredients and several special sauces, has moved into a 1,600-square-foot space at the eastern end of the Slab Inn at Seltice Way and Chase Road, Post Falls.

The menu includes strombolis, bread sticks, cheese bread and buffalo wings. A full lunch menu will be added. The restaurant, with seating for 30 customers and delivery and take-out, is the 16th for 3-year-old Sahara Pizza, which has its headquarters in Bellevue, Wash.

Originally from Kettle Falls, Wash., and Butte, Mont, respectively, Post Falls owners are Josh and Jennifer Haag.
