STOCKTON, Calif. – The Spokane Shock can clinch the West division plus a first-round bye and homefield advantage in the playoffs leading up to the Arena Cup with a victory over the host Stockton Lightning tonight at 7:30.

The Shock, with a league-best 11-2 record and a No. 1 ranking in the arenafootball2 coaches poll, are coming off a 67-24 home victory over the Amarillo Dusters last week. Quarterback Kyle Rowley threw for 160 yards and five touchdowns. Three different receivers caught TD passes: Antwone Savage, Charles Frederick and Kevin Beard.

The Shock have also scored on the ground. Raul Vijil has nine rushing touchdowns this season and Levi Madarieta seven.

Defensive specialist Rob Keefe heads the defense with 53 solo tackles and leads the af2 with nine interceptions.

The Lightning were the visitors for the Shock’s first af2 game, in which Spokane won at the Arena 41-40.

A victory tonight would put Shock coach Chris Siegfried a win away from becoming the winningest coach in af2 history.

The Shock have two regular-season games after tonight, at home July 22 against Everett and at Rio Grande Valley on July 29.
