Morrison finishes summer league No. 1
Mead High and Gonzaga University product Adam Morrison wrapped up his first pro basketball experience with distinction.
Morrison finished as the Orlando (Fla.) pro summer league’s leading scorer and earned first-team honors, with per-game averages of 24.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, two assists and two turnovers in 29 minutes of play.
Morrison shot a cumulative 39.8 percent from the field (28.6 from 3-point range) and made 92.5 percent of his free throws.
Morrison scored a game-high 27 points in his final game of the week on Friday, a Charlotte loss to Indiana.
Morrison heads off next week for a Team USA training camp in Las Vegas.
“This was a good week for me. I enjoyed my first taste of NBA-type basketball and I think I showed I can succeed at this level,” Morrison said in a team-issued statement.
“This is a good start for me and I look forward to next week with USA Basketball and then returning to Charlotte to get ready for the season.”
