RiverHawks hold on to beat Pirates

Brian Yardley drove in two runs with a two-out, bases-loaded single in the top of the 10th inning Friday to lead the Spokane RiverHawks to a 3-1 victory over the Moses Lake Pirates in West Coast Collegiate Baseball League action in Moses Lake.

Josh Williamson struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to pick up the win for Spokane (17-6).

The RiverHawks play at Moses Lake (7-16) tonight at 7.

Golf

Erik Olson of Newcastle, Wash., and Danny Green of Jackson, Tenn., survived the quarterfinals and semifinals and will meet in today’s 36-hole final of the Pacific Northwest Golf Association men’s amateur championship at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, British Columbia. Olson, a junior at the University of Washington, defeated Tom Glissmeyer of Colorado Springs, Colo., in the quarterfinals 6 and 5. He then defeated Shane Prante of Olympia, Wash., 4 and 3.

Green, a 2004 U.S. Walker Cup Team member topped Brady Exber of Las Vegas in the quarterfinals 4 and 3, then defeated Riki Kauika of New Zealand 1-up.

• Allison Goodman of San Diego topped UC Berkeley teammate Shannon Yocum of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., 5 and 4 to win the PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship at Walla Walla CC.
