Former Eagle Trufant joins Shock
The Spokane Shock announced Thursday that wide receiver/defensive back Isaiah Trufant, who played at Eastern Washington University, has been assigned to their roster by the af2 league office.
Trufant, 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds, is the younger brother of Seattle Seahawk and former Washington State DB Marcus Trufant.
Trufant played in 39 games with EWU, totaling 11 interceptions and 133 tackles. He was named to the Big Sky Conference first team during his senior season, despite an injury that limited him to six games.
Trufant, a Tacoma native, becomes the fifth EWU player on the Shock’s roster.
Trufant will be cleared to play Saturday night at the Arena against the Albany Conquest.
Basketball
The Seattle SuperSonics will play the Golden State Warriors in Spokane on Oct. 26 in a preseason game at the Arena.
Seattle will open its preseason schedule Oct. 11 at Portland.
Golf
Jamie Moul of the United Kingdom defeated Alex Prugh (University of Washington/Ferris High) 4 and 3 during the third round of match play at the British Amateur in Scotland.
Moul also won his fourth-round match to qualify for the quarterfinals.
