Storm drub Silver Stars
Lauren Jackson had 27 points on 10-for-13 shooting to lead the Seattle Storm to an 87-57 win over San Antonio on Friday night.
Seattle (7-7), which had dropped four of its last six games, avenged an 89-87 home loss June 4 to San Antonio (6-6).
Jackson had 17 first-half points and 10 more in the first 4 minutes of the fourth before leaving the game with 5:26 remaining.
Katie Feenstra had 12 points for the Silver Stars, who dropped their second straight road game after starting 5-0.
The Storm had nine players combine on 24 assists.
Sparks 77, Monarchs 63: Mwadi Mabika had 24 points to lead Los Angeles to a victory over the Monarchs at Sacramento, Calif.
Fever 83, Mercury 73: At Phoenix, Tamika Whitmore had 26 points and nine rebounds and Tamika Catchings added 20 points to help Indiana to its third consecutive win and fifth in its last six.
WNBA scoring leader Diana Taurasi had 21 points for the Mercury.
Comets 85, Sting 70: Tina Thompson didn’t play as if she were sick.
Thompson scored 22 points and Michelle Snow added 16 as the Comets held off a second-half rally and defeated Charlotte at Houston.
The Comets ended a two-game losing streak and won their sixth straight home game.
Sun 84, Sky 79: Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 21 points and 14 rebounds and visiting Connecticut handed Chicago its 12th consecutive defeat.
