GU, WSU pick up wins
Jackson Brennan’s game-winning RBI double in the top of the 15th inning Thursday gave Gonzaga an 8-7 baseball win over Lewis-Clark State in the Banana Belt Classic in Lewiston.
Zach Woodward homered to lead off the ninth to put GU (8-6) up 7-6. L-C State (10-2) tied the game on a sacrifice fly by D.J. Kooken that scored Mark Thompson.
The teams battled for five scoreless innings before Scott Campbell scored the game’s final run.
Brandon Harmon picked up his first win of the season for the Bulldogs, who will face Washington State today.
Also at the tourney, WSU pounded out 14 hits en route to a 16-0 win over Chicago State (1-2) at Pullman.
WSU (11-2) won its fifth consecutive game behind freshman Jared Prince, who scattered five hits over five innings to pick up his first career win. Jay Miller drove in three runs and extended his hitting streak to 16 games for the Cougars.

Derick Abney scored the game-winning goal 3 minutes into overtime, and the Spokane Flyers forced a decisive fifth game today in their divisional finals series with a 4-3 win over Queen City in KPHL action at Helena. The game will be in Helena.
