Watching Chiefs not fun

The Spokesman-Review

My wife and I have seen the ups and downs that go with major junior hockey, and always have enjoyed ourselves at the games regardless of the outcome, except for this season.

Since the loss of Mike Babcock, the King of the Chiefs, aka Tim Speltz, has given us the “rebuilding” story year after year.

To date, management has given us two ineffective coaches, a team with no heart, no speed, no offensive skills, and more. I am not speaking about the individuals that shine periodically, I am speaking about the team.

Speltz has continued to put the blame on the players after every game, when he should be looking inward and wondering if it is time to step down because the game has gotten past his ability to manage.

Case in point is the last trade. We gave up six players for a seemingly great goaltender, only to see his weaknesses come out because he is on a bad team with no defense.

The bottom line is until (owner) Bobby Brett removes Speltz then all is lost.

Maybe they should cut season-ticket prices in half so we really get our money’s worth regardless of the team’s performance, and have nothing to complain about.
