Great Northern League: Curtis McNair didn’t allow an earned run in six innings of work as Riverside grabbed an 8-1 win over visiting Colville (10-6) Tuesday. Taylor McMahon was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, and Derek Pederson went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Rams (11-7). … Jon O’Connor tossed a shutout, giving up five hits and one walk, and Medical Lake notched a 7-0 victory at Chewelah (2-12). Ryan Reitmeier finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the Cardinals (11-5) on offense. … Justin Cooper went 4 for 5 and drove in three runs to lead Pullman to a 22-0 five-inning rout of host Deer Park (0-16). Three Greyhounds collected three hits: Ryan Druffel, Marty Guettinger and Travis Cooper. Jamie Fertakis hit a grand slam in the second inning for Pullman (10-4).

Boys soccer

Great Northern League: Riverside topped visiting Lakeside 1-0 to move a half game ahead of the Eagles (9-4, 7-3) for second place in the league. The Rams’ (9-4, 8-3) lone score came on an own goal when Jaime Rebuelta beat his man down the sideline and crossed the ball that a Lakeside defender then knocked in. … Mingfei Wang beat a diving keeper off a pass from Bart Church to score midway through the first half, and Evan McCain scored an insurance goal on a corner kick 2 minutes before halftime as Pullman pulled out a 2-0 win over visiting Medical Lake (5-9, 5-6). Pullman (15-0, 11-0) remained undefeated with the win. … Peter Phillips scored twice and registered an assist, and Derek Rainer chipped in two goals to lead Colville to a 5-1 win over visiting Chewelah (0-12, 0-11). Josh Powell also scored for the Indians (3-13, 2-10), and Bill Gregorson notched the Cougars’ only goal.

Boys golf

Greater Spokane League: Dustin Poe of Ferris and Erick Henderson of Mead shared medalist honors with 1-under-par rounds of 71 at the fifth GSL event. Gonzaga Prep took the top team score with a 369 at The Fairways. Mead clinched the league championship with its third-place finish.

Boys track and field

Great Northern League: Medical Lake’s Jon Scholes won the low hurdles, high jump and long jump as the Cardinals swept Chewelah, 87-44, and Riverside, 83-49, in a tri-meet at Medical Lake. David Jacob (800 and 1,600), and Drew Richardson (100 and triple jump), each recorded two wins for ML. The Rams topped the Cougars 87-43 in the other matchup.

Girls track and field

Great Northern League: Stephanie Dye of Riverside was the top finisher in all three distance events as the Rams defeated Medical Lake 75-67 and tied Chewelah at 69, in a tri-meet at Medical Lake. Amber Scott took first in the discus and shot put for Riverside. Abby Wren won the 100 and 200 for the ML Cardinals, who beat the Cougars 75-68 in the other matchup.
