Gertrude ‘Tru D’ La Dow

Spokane

Gertrude “Tru D” La Dow is celebrating her 100th birthday today.

Born May 5, 1906, in Wichita, Kan., She has been a resident of Spokane for the past 64 years.

Gertrude married Clarence Little in 1924, and he died in 1956.

In 1957, Gertrude married S.C. La Dow. He died in 1986.

When asked what has helped her live a long and healthy life, she stated, “To survive, no matter what. (Also) to be able to let go and move on.”

La Dow has one daughter, Mary Little Peterson of Seattle, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
