Orioles 6, Royals 5: Corey Patterson homered, had four RBIs and scored the tiebreaking run in the eighth inning to lead the Orioles past Kansas City at Baltimore. Kansas City, which had a modest three-game winning streak end, is a major league-worst 2-15 on the road.

Rangers 6, Red Sox 0, (5 1/2 , rain): Hank Blalock was 2 for 3 with a home run and Kameron Loe threw his first career complete game when Texas beat the Red Sox in a rain-shortened game at Boston.

Twins 10, White Sox 1: At Minneapolis, Johan Santana struck out 10 in seven innings and Minnesota hit three home runs against Chicago. Santana has allowed just four runs in three starts this month.
