Event features edible books
For books so good you can eat them, try the Books2Eat Edible Book Festival at the Eastern Washington University library next Wednesday.
EWU Friends of the Library sponsor the event held each year in the lobby of the JFK Library.
Residents are invited to prepare an entry, attend the festival, vote for a favorite edible book and help eat the entries. A prize will be awarded to the entry that receives the most votes from the public. The books must be edible, require no refrigeration and have a literary theme identifiable to an observer.
The books can be viewed from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library lobby. The winner’s prize will be awarded at 4 and the books will be served with coffee and tea.
To enter an edible book, call Janice Batchelor at (509) 359-2264 to reserve a space. The books must be dropped off at the library by 1:45 p.m. next Wednesday with a card that includes the creator’s name, address, phone number and a brief explanation of the entry on the back.
