Dodgers 8, Rockies 1: At Los Angeles, Kenny Lofton hit a two-run triple and the Dodgers beat Colorado for their sixth straight win.

Mets 9, Phillies 8 (16): At New York, Carlos Beltran led off the bottom of the 16th inning with a home run to send the Mets past Philadelphia.

Diamondbacks 7, Pirates 3: At Phoenix, Johnny Estrada and Conor Jackson homered and Arizona beat Pittsburgh. Jason Bay had a pair of solo home runs for the Pirates.

Padres 2, Braves 1: At San Diego, Josh Barfield’s bases-loaded grounder bounced off Chipper Jones’ chest for an error and brought in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Padres beat Atlanta.

Nationals 4, Astros 1: At Washington, Ramon Ortiz pitched seven strong innings and the Nationals beat Houston.

Reds 7, Brewers 3: At Cincinnati, Ken Griffey Jr. homered and drove in four runs to lead the Reds over Milwaukee.

Marlins 5, Cubs 4: At Miami, Mike Jacobs’ two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning rallied Florida to a win over Chicago.

Cardinals 8, Giants 5: At San Francisco, Albert Pujols’ first-inning three-run homer propelled St. Louis past the Giants.
