Hold Speltz accountable
It is disappointing that the current hype surrounding the NHL has not carried over to the local Chiefs hockey organization.
Over the past three years, the support for the Chiefs seems to have declined. This is apparent in the lackluster attendance and enthusiasm at the games. As a long-time season-ticket holder, I am faced again with the decision about renewing my seats. I love hockey, but feel that due to mismanagement of talent, the finished product of the team has failed.
The Chiefs’ No. 1 Bantam draft pick has expressed he does not want to play in Spokane. Can you blame him? I can’t help but wonder why Spokane can’t manage its talent in order to produce a successful team.
I believe that in order for this situation to be corrected, changes need to be made starting at the top with the replacement of Tim Speltz. As general manager, Speltz is responsible for this loss of talent. He should be held accountable. I encourage the Bretts to step in and take care of business.
