Morrison’s March Madness
So Adam Morrison is going to be the cover boy of EA Sports NCAA March Madness 2007.
Is that a good or bad thing? So far there hasn’t been a cover jinx, a la Madden Football, but who knows? Shaun Alexander didn’t believe in the Madden jinx and look where he is now. So maybe Morrison better rethink … no, being on the cover of a game like this is what being on the cover of the Rolling Stone was for rock stars in the ‘70s and ‘80s – and these games only come out once a year.
This one will be available for download Nov. 14.
In even more important news – not if you’re a gamer – the NBA kicked off Tuesday, although Morrison’s Bobcats start today against Indiana. And it’s official: Morrison will come off the bench as the Bobcats will start Brevin Knight and Raymond Felton at the guards.

Should Huskies burn QB redshirt?
The University of Washington has three games left. It also has injury problems at quarterback. So coach Tyrone Willingham won’t rule out burning freshman Jake Locker’s redshirt year, even if only to play in the Apple Cup.
Maybe this would be the best thing for the Huskies, but it isn’t the right thing to do for Locker.

Brees to mom: Knock it off
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees told his mother to cut it out. He wants her to stop using his picture in TV commercials touting her candidacy for a Texas appeals court.
In commercials running on Austin stations, Mina Brees had used a picture of her son in the uniform of his former team, the San Diego Chargers, to emphasize her ties to football.
“I’ve made it known many times I don’t want to be involved,” Drew Brees said.
Mina Brees, an Austin attorney, is running as a Democrat for a spot on Texas’ 3rd Court of Appeals. Brees called his relationship with his mother “nonexistent” after it crumbled six years ago when he refused to hire her as his agent.
