Cheney swimmer honored

Cheney will be well represented during this weekend’s girls State 2A Swimming and Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Among them is senior Morgan Landreaux, who was voted Eastern Washington’s Female High School Swimmer of the Year.

The award was based on three years of district and state level performance and leadership, said coach Kathryn Teske.

The Blackhawks finished second during the Districts 5-7 meet with four first places and three meet records.

All told, Cheney is sending eight swimmers to state and will have competitors in all 11 races including three relays.

Wendy’s state winner

Destiny Christianson, a three-sport athlete and two-sport All-Panorama selection from Inchelium, is Washington’s female Wendy’s High School Heisman state winner.
