Winter Festival – The annual event hosted at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge includes elk tours, a presentation by the Washington State University Raptor Rehabilitation Program, refreshments and live music, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the refuge, located three miles south of Cheney on Cheney-Plaza Road. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds benefiting the environmental education programs on the refuge. Theater dedication – A gala dedication for the Met Theater turned Bing Crosby Theater beginning with a free Bing Crosby Film Festival from noon-6 p.m. Dec. 8 at the theater, 901 W. Sprague. The dedication begins at 7 p.m. followed by a cabaret performance by Kathryn Crosby at 8 p.m. Admission for the performance ranges from $25 to $100 through 325-SEAT or www.ticketswest.com.
