The third time wasn’t the charm

After less than four months of marriage, Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock have split.

Rock filed a divorce petition Monday morning in Los Angeles Superior Court, followed less than an hour later by Anderson’s, according to the TMZ.com Web site.

Rock’s petition lists Sunday as the couple’s separation date; hers indicates last Tuesday.

“It wasn’t a happy Thanksgiving,” Anderson’s rep told People magazine.

The on-and-off relationship between former “Baywatch” babe Anderson, 39, and rocker Rock (aka Bob Ritchie), 35, has been a turbulent one since they first became engaged in 2002.

They were wed in late July near St. Tropez, France, and again at a courthouse in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Aug. 3. They tied the knot a third time on Aug. 17 in Nashville, Tenn.

Anderson reported on her Web site earlier this month that she had suffered a miscarriage.

There was no prenuptial agreement, according to TMZ.com, which posted copies of both divorce petitions.

A bare-faced lie

Country singer Troy Lee Gentry pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of falsely registering a captive bear as being killed in the wild.

Under the plea arrangement, Gentry agreed to pay a $15,000 fine, give up hunting, fishing and trapping in Minnesota for five years, and forfeit both the bear’s hide and the bow he used to shoot the animal in 2004.

He and Eddie Montgomery make up the country singing duo Montgomery Gentry.

Bad blood

Organizers of a Jamaican film festival have shelved plans to auction a guitar, shaped like an M-16 rifle, owned by reggae legend Peter Tosh.

His former girlfriend put the Fender Stratocaster up for sale, saying Tosh gave it to her as a gift. But his sons objected, claiming it belonged to the Peter Tosh Foundation.

The late Tosh, one of the founders of the Wailers, once said that he used the guitar to “scare all vampires.”

He shall be heave-on

Elton John left the stage briefly during a concert Sunday in Australia after being struck by a bout of nausea.

“I thought I’d better chunder in the toilet (rather) than all over the front row,” he said, using an Australian colloquialism.

Give peace a chance

Yoko Ono is calling for the anniversary of the assassination of her husband, John Lennon, to become a day of worldwide healing.

In a full-page advertisement appearing in Sunday editions of The New York Times, Ono urged readers to mark the Dec. 8 anniversary by apologizing to those who have suffered because of violence and war.

Of her own loss, Ono says: “I don’t know if I am ready yet to forgive the one who pulled the trigger. … But healing is what is urgently needed now in the world.”
