Golf titles won by CCS

Community Colleges of Spokane men and women won championships at the Walla Walla Fall Classic golf tournament Monday at Wild Horse Resort in Pendleton, Ore.

The men had three among the leaders two strokes apart, led by Brandon Filion’s 1-over-par 145 in third, for a 587 team score.

Walla Walla also had a 587, but the Sasquatch claimed first in a tiebreaker that involved matching scorecards for the last nine holes. CCS was four strokes better over that distance.

The CCS women had four within three strokes of one another in the top 10 in a 505-522 win over Columbia Basin. Sadie Green led the Sasquatch with a 168 to finish seventh.
