Bistro, art auction to benefit CdA groups

The “It Was a Very Good Year” Bistro and Fine Art Auction is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. The event, a collaboration between the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation and Coeur d’Alene Homes Assisted Living and Memory Care, will raise funds for both nonprofit organizations.

Tickets for the bistro and auction are $50. Beforehand, painter Richard Schmid will give a presentation for a $15 admission.

Children’s Village lunch

Have lunch “down under” on Thursday for the Children’s Village. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Outback Steakhouse, 1381 Northwood Center Court, Coeur d’Alene, enjoy lunch, risk “down under fines” from local law enforcement and help raise money for the prevention of child neglect and abuse. Tickets are $15.

Rummage sale

Thursday through Saturday, stop by Fowler United Methodist Church, 3928 N. Howard St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for a benefit rummage sale.

Sharon Karalfa, daughter of church minister Linda Karalfa, is studying to be a minister and has the opportunity to go on an African missionary journey. Proceeds from the sale will help her with that. For more information, call Barbara Fowler at (509) 489-2449.

Wishing Star sponsors

Each year, the Wishing Star Foundation looks to the community for support for its annual Christmas program. The effort includes individuals, businesses and groups willing to adopt a wish family for Christmas.

Sponsors puchase a gift for each member of a family and a grocery gift certificate for Christmas dinner.

Goodwill dinner party

Habitat for Humanity’s 11th annual “Raise the Roof” dinner and auction begins with a silent auction Friday at 6 p.m. at Northern Quest Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road in Airway Heights.
